6 months old!

Rachel turned 6 months old yesterday, and had her doctor's check up today. She is 26.2 inches long and weighs 14 lbs 14 oz. In comparison, Lizzy was 27.2 inches long and 15 lbs 5 oz at 6 months. Here are some pictures of Rachel - I can't believe she is 6 months old already!

Matching Dresses!

The moment I've been waiting for since I found out I was having a second girl has arrived - MATCHING DRESSES!! Aren't they just so cute! I was so excited this morning to dress them in their matching dresses for church! I took a whole bunch of pictures, but I couldn't get them to smile at me... oh well. No one feels like smiling early in the morning, I guess, especially not Jason's offspring - they are not morning people, just like daddy!

Rachel Sits Up!

Rachel's been trying hard to sit up, but she always falls over after just a couple of seconds, so I haven't been able to get a picture. Today she finally was able to stay up for a nice long time, and I got this cute shot!

Videos

I have been slacking in the video department with my kids, so here are some cute videos I took today of Lizzy singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and Rachel eating some rice cereal.

Date Night!

Well, everyone who knows me knows that I am completely attached to my kids, so Jason and I haven't gone on a dinner and a movie date night since I was pregnant with Lizzy - it's been probably 2 1/2 years! But, Rachel is just about 6 months old now, so I took a chance and left my kids with my mom & Jason & I ate out at Lone Star Steakhouse, and then went to see Quantum of Solace. The kids had a great time with Grandma & were both in bed sleeping when we got home at 9, which was so nice! Jason & I really enjoyed having an evening all to ourselves. Before kids, we used to do a date night every week! My little daughters are the most wonderful things ever, but they sure do change your marital life! So, thanks mom, for watching my kids and helping me relax about leaving them to do things. I'll have to keep doing this babysitting stuff.

Lizzy's First Person

Lizzy drew her first person today. I had to scan it to share! I asked her about the picture - it's supposed to be me. I said, "who's that?" she said "mama" and then I asked her what the circles at the top were ("eyes") and the line below them ("mouth"), and the scribbles in the beard area ("hands"), and the scribbles at the top of the legs ("knees") and then the legs of course, and feet.
